A long time ago in a Lake District far, far away...

Is there any better way to spend a day in the beautiful Lake District mountains than whilst geeking out about the new Star Wars film; The Force Awakens!

INTO THE OUTSIDE's Star Wars The Force Awakens Lake District Guided Walk takes you around the fells surrounding Derwent Water, the location of the fictional planet Takodana, on an epic day out.

You will start on the Western side of Derwent Water and begin the day ascending Catbells, a classic mountain that looks out towards Maiden Moor and High Spy. You will witness spectacular views of all the surrounding fells and beyond. It truly is a walk from another galaxy!

We will then descend close to the village of Grange and walk to Abbots Bay and stop for lunch at Great Bay. This is where the Millennium Falcon lands as Han Solo, Chewbacca and Rey visit the 1000 year old creature Maz Kanata at her interstellar bar. This is where Rey collects Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber (film spoiler sorry).

Great Bay is a perfect place to look out over Derwent Water and marvel at Skiddaw and Blencathra in the distance, imagining the Resistance's X-wing fighters of Poe Dameron battalion fly overhead and battle the First Order's Tie Fighters.

After lunch we will escape the Stormtroopers and walk along the Eastern side of Derwent Water past Mary Mount, Lady's Rake and Great Wood. We will then walk through the lovely market town of Keswick before rounding off our Star Wars The Force Awakens Lake District Guided Walk through Nicol End and Silver Hill. Finishing back at Hawes End.

A perfect day out for all with plenty of Star Wars trivia thrown in!

May the Fells be with you, always.
