KAYAKING FRENCH ALPS
Have you ever dreamt of kayaking on some of the classic white water rivers of Europe? Then there no better place to cut your teeth than on INTO THE OUTSIDE's Classic French White Water Kayaking Adventure.
We will be based in the quaint town of L'Argentiere La Besse, 16km South of Briancon in the Parc National des Ecrins. The ultimate destination for your first European kayaking trip.
Here we will live on the bank of the mighty Durance river, eating good food and drinking fine French wine in the Sun. But not before you sample some Alpine White Water Gems.
We will start on the classic Durnace Sunshine Run, a beautiful wide open Grade 3, home to the famous Rabioux Wave. It's a 20km fun run with beautiful scenery and big bouncy waves. The perfect way to get you used to the speed of Alpine rivers.
We will continue the week paddling the classics like the Lower Guil, the Upper Guisane, Clairee, The Onde, The Gyronde, The Ubaye Racecourse and end with the famous Briancon Gorge.
You won't want the trip to end. It truly is a kayakers paradise and the perfect place to begin your kayaking journey.
Minimum 6 people.
Trip length - 7 days.
This is a beginner to intermediate trip and you
should be competent paddling grade 3 rivers, have a good roll and your own paddling kit.
INTO THE OUTSIDE will provide guiding, instruction and safety on the rivers. You will need to arrange your own flights to Turin airport and from there transport with be provided.
We will be staying on campsite accommodation next to the Durance river where there are great facilities, a kayaking lake to chill out on and the slalom course to play on.
