Rock & Ghyll Combo
Time & Location
About the Event
Get ready for big adventure day out you won't forget on our Ghyll and Rock Climbing combo day.
A 'Ghyll' Cumbrian for a 'mountain river'. Ghylls are a thing of beauty where one can find a sublime moment, sat gazing at the sparkling pools whilst listening to a ancient waterfall.
At INTO THE OUTSIDE we want to fully immerse you in the wonder of the natural world and Ghyll Scrambling is the finest example of this!
As we ascend the river against the flow you'll encounter rapids, plunge pools, waterfalls and chutes that we can play around in and set you some challenges! It's sensory overload as you travel through this dynamic environment on an adventure you will truly never forget.
With plentiful mountain rivers in the Lake District INTO THE OUTSIDE can choose a venue that best suits your aspirations and the weather conditions.
Whether you are a complete beginner or you've climbed before INTO THE OUTSIDE will take you to some awe inspiring crags in the Lake District and develop your Rock Climbing skills.
The crags we select to climb on are all Single Pitch. This is a rock climb that is typically 10-15 metres in height and allows you to tackle a variety of routes in a day.
We'll walk into the crag with the stunning Lakeland fells as our backdrop and set about rigging a route that suits your experience and your interests.
You will be outfitted in a harness and helmet and taught some very important knots. After kitting up you'll then have the opportunity climb as many routes as you have the energy for! Either topping out or abseiling back down the rock face!
At INTO THE OUTSIDE safety is paramount and we will provide you with all the equipment, skills & support you need to enjoy this exhilarating sport.
Both Rock Climbing and Ghyll Scrambling require a good level of physical fitness as you will be out all day exerting yourself in the elements.
