Take on all 4 of England's mountains over 3000ft in 12 hrs all in aid of raising funds for the incredible Children's Liver Disease Foundation, a cause close to the hearts of Becki & Dan at INTO THE OUTSIDE.

Fundraising events are being held all over the UK as part of BIG YELLOW FRIDAY and INTO THE OUTSIDE are introducing this EPIC challenge into the mixing pot!

CLDF is fighting childhood liver disease by providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected. To read more about them and there phenomenal work please visit:

All these mountain giants lie in the Lake District National Park, their summits include: Skiddaw (3,054ft), Helvellyn (3,117ft), Scafell (3,162ft) and Scafell Pike (3,209ft) which we'll aim to tackle in 12hrs walking time or less!

The Lakes 3000s is a major undertaking involving some 8,500ft of ascent, 24 kilometres of walking over difficult terrain and exposure to the mountain elements for an extended period of time. It's a challenge that will test mental and physical resolve especially since this is an event that we usually run in the summer months so we'll have much less daylight and possible some chilly walking conditions!

Challengers will tackle the challenge in 3 stages (driving between the start points for each stage)

Scafell Pike/Scafell Stage – 10km/approx 5 hours
Helvellyn Stage – 4km/approx 3 hours
Skiddaw Stage – 10km/approx 4 hours

(It's important to note that it is the time you spend HIKING that will be recorded and totalled at the finish, as everyone is likely to have slightly different hiking speeds and the minibus can only leave once everyone is down!)

We are encouraging people to enter as individuals who will take on all 3 stages or teams of 3 (where each team member does one of the 3 stages). It will be an early 5am start on the Saturday so participants will need to stay locally in Cumbria in or around Keswick on the Friday night. We'll aim to be down from our final mountain around 7/8pm, we'll return to Keswick but then of course there's celebration time to factor in, we'll be heading to the local pub to refuel afterwards and recognise your achievements!

The event normally costs £155pp but we are asking for just £30pp (WOW!) for individuals or £90 per team (£30pp) to be involved. This covers: Guides, safety provision, hot drinks, t-shirts and minibus transport.

Challengers will need to bring their own:

- Rucksack
- Rucksack liner/dry bags
- Head torch (+ spare batteries)
- Waterproofs (jacket & trousers)
- Walking boots
- Hiking socks (+ spares)
- Gloves & hat (+ spares)
- Hiking trousers
- Warm thermal/fleece layers (+ spares)
- Insulated jacket
- 1L Water bottle
- Pre-made breakfast & lunch (and something to eat it with!)
- High energy snacks

We'll be running a minibus from a meeting point in Keswick, so folk can leave cars in Keswick and the minibus will return here once the challenge is complete! Family and friends are welcome to join us at the end to welcome our hikers down from the Skiddaw, the final mountain (or any mountain if they fancy a drive!) and return to Keswick to celebrate at the pub with everyone!
